My My My - where do I begin.....................
I had to read the description again on this place to make sure that I read it correctly because what we experienced had very little in common w/ this description. I am going to go through the description and share our experience as to what it is written. First off - this is not a townhouse. I have owned and rented long term a townhouse. This is a glorified 2 room basement apartment. It appears that it was one house and was broken up into smaller apts. Secondly, it is not in Malibu as stated in the title. It is in Pacific Palisades, a few miles from Malibu. We drove a few miles past the Getty Villa when we saw the Malibu sign. Also, before we left on vaca, I goggled the address and it read Pacific Palisades. 3) Steps to the beach. Really? The place is located way above the ocean roughly a 1/2 mile away. Yes, you have an ocean view which is nice, but you do not run across the street to the beach. 4) "Back doors in bedroom and living room open to a gorgeous ocean view." There are no back doors, these are the only doors. Yes, the doors and windows do open to a view, but there are no screens, so we could not open them due to the bugs. If you do not mind bugs flying into the apartment, then you will enjoy the doors being opened. 5) Full Kitchen? Really. The fridge is hotel style. It was not a full fridge and it had no freezer. 6) "Plush Queen Bed" - The mattress is too small for the frame and you sort of have to jump into it. 7) Newly Remolded? The bathroom and kitchen counter appeared to be newer, but the stove is from the 60's. That is not a big deal, but do not write fully remodeled when there is a such a stove and an old dishwasher. Staying in a place with a (tiny) kitchen, one figures you may eat a few meals there. If you do, there is really no place for the trash. We did not see any trash bags and all there was is a tiny basket under the kitchen sink. We put the trash in a bag and left it in the house for a few hours. Let's just say this is not a good thing to do . For the amount of money that was paid to stay here, you think you would be provided some shampoo and a bar of soap for a shower. Good thing we had our own. If you want to iron clothes, forget it. Does not exist. We found a steam type machine, but when we plugged it in, the safety switch owould pop out. Between this place and the one we stayed in LA through homeaway, it is back to hotels for us.
