Charming, quiet, friendly
The house itself is lovely; calm, well-maintained, and comfortable. As others have noted, there are challenges that come with an old stone house, but the owners seem to have those in view and are addressing them. We had hot weather the week we stayed, but the fans really kept the upstairs cool for sleeping. We very much enjoyed breakfasts on the balcony, and other meals on the porch. We traveled with our 2 and 5-year-olds, and there were plenty of board and card games for them when we weren't out exploring. The location is wonderful - Richards Landing has some of the friendliest people, and there is a nice beach and playground just a few minutes walk from the house. There is also a delightful ice cream shop, and some quaint shops and a grocery store in town. The rest of the island is worth exploring, too, and locals will be more than happy to give you good tips on where to go. All in all, we're very glad we stayed at this house and would recommend it to others.
