True Essence of "HomeAway"
I could write pages about our wonderful time @ Nick's! The pictures provided here show a lovely place. I have to tell you, in person it's many times nicer. We were wowed. I'm a marketing professional and know the importance of not only satisfying your customers, but also "WOW-ing" them. Nick accomplished this hands down. We stayed in the 3-bedroom flat. The hardwoods and Ikea-appointed decor were absolutely beautiful. This place is extremely spacious and has plenty of dressers and closets to put away your clothes and belongings to truly make yourselves at home. After a long day of sight-seeing, the sofa set was extremely comfy where we lounged and watched some of the movies Nick has in his DVD library. Great hospitality from the tennants downstairs. We felt safe at all times and (as one reviewer mentioned), we too would definitely live in this neighborhoold should we ever decide to relocate to Toronto. I could go on and on about the flat, but trust me, you will not be disappointed. We are advance-degreed professionals (MBA, Esq.) and we have an appreciation for luxury and nice surroundings. You get this - at a very reasonable price I might add - by staying at Nick's. We had our 2 Border Collies with us and we were so thankful to find an upscale place that would allow dogs that we repaid Nick by vacuuming each day of our stay - as we do at home. Our philosophy is to treat others' places and things as good, or better, than you do your own. It was our way to express our genuine thanks to Nick for opening his home to our dogs. I wanted to mention the neighborhood. A great grocery story is only a few blocks away. We walked there and to the beach. You can have your dogs on the beach from November until March. They had a ball. It took us about 15 mins. to walk there, but it was a pleasure as you get to see some great homes along the way. The beach is also a treasure and just as I read on a tourist Web site, there are many people strolling the boardwalk with dogs - & coffee - in tow! Great view of Toronto's skyline, too. It was a nice backdrop for pics. We also walked to a nice fine-dining restuarant for one of our meals and visited a pub to watch Sunday football and had a great meal there. Greektown wasn't too far (we drove there) and rummaged around a used bookstore and had a nice meal at one of the many restuarants there. We always felt safe at Nick's, in the immediate neighborhood and throughout the beaches neighborhood.
