Fun and relaxing!
I'm glad that most of the normal places were already booked solid for the weekend; otherwise, I might have missed this little treat. It was unique, comfortable, and quiet (other than the rooster sounding reveille in the morning)! I arrived with my canoe and mountain bikes, but the location would have been great for a lot of other activities as well. (Ask the owner for suggestions.) Speaking of the owner, he and his wife did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, especially giving us directions and tips for local activities and destinations. You don't stay in a barn if you're expecting Marriott rooms and a pool. But if you're up for a little adventure, I can't think of a better place to find it! I have one suggestion, however: besides the barn, there's a cute little farmhouse and a small apartment at that same location. If you're not quite ready for the barn (but love the rustic farm atmosphere), then book early to get one of the other accommodations.
