Great Place to Stay for Some Snow Fun!
We just had the best time at this house on our annual February trip to the area!! There was a decent amount of snow there for the kids to play in, thanks to all the winter storms California has been seeing. This is high enough to get some snow and have it stick, but not quite high enough to have a lot of associated issues. The street that the house is on was only plowed on the first half. We had snow tires and were able to make it through the inch or so of snow on the street, but our friends couldn't get any traction and had to put chains on just to get in the driveway. Not sure why the 2nd half of the street wasn't plowed, but we were prepared so it was no biggie! The house was cold in the 2nd floor, and even with the fire and the heater, we could never get it to a comfortable temperature, but they provide lots of extra blankets, so everyone was comfortable. It's well equipped and clean and has a great layout for the kids to play in the family room and the parents to hang out in the kitchen. There are also lots of great decks. We have elementary-aged kids and were able to let them play on the deck near the kitchen with the porch light on as it got a little dark because they were so happy to have snow! We were warm and they were happy! We went up to Leland Snow Play one day (as we do every year) and ice skated at Long Barn Lodge the next. That was great and something we had never done before!! All-in-all, it was a great trip! We've stayed at other places in this area, but this is by far our favorite!! I think we'll be coming back here next year!
