Mokuleia Area Gem
I continue to return to the Waialua area for an annual business trip and if available I prefer to stay at Pollock Plantation. Dane and Keri Lynn are super nice and very helpful. I enjoy this gated property located in the North Shore countryside. The property is about 30 miles from the Honolulu Airport and traffic can be a grind during rush hour so plan ahead even early morning, at least 3 hours before any flights out 7AM or earlier. Pearl Harbor is before airport and Waikiki is in downtown area. This plantation is away from traffic and crowds. It is a short walk to the beach and there are trails for walking located near by or if you want to go for a horseback ride that is close by too. Mokuleia Mountain is breathtaking and visible along the walk to the beach. The property is a short 5 to 10 min drive to the old Waialua Sugar Cane Factory and the historic beach town of Hale'iwa. I enjoy going for a paddle-board adventure through Rainbow Watersports in Hale'iwa, up the river past the famous Hale'iwa Bridge. So many turtles and big waves on North Shore!! The studio is perfect for a quiet, relaxing time. Full kitchen (granite counter tops, stainless appliances, no dishwasher but you), bath (shower only) and open concept living space, very clean too. They have cable and internet as well as a washer/dryer which is located outside. Even has an outside shower area for after the beach. It is located on the family property (connected to a house in back) so a real Hawaiian country feel even chickens are out sometimes. Beautiful flowers, green lawns and private entrance. I look forward to returning next year.
