PERFECT/CLEAN/SAFE for active families!!! and so affordable!
We are a family of 3, me, my wife and my 5 year old son. We came to Maui for 6 nights, and had a VERY busy itinerary of whale and snorkeling tours, hiking and more. The property is not far from the airport in a GORGEOUS, safe and totally normal residential neighborhood ofF a coastal hwy. Pull in down the fenced driveway to a well kept backyard and gravel parking area. Find your unit. go in. Safe, quiet and 100%clean. Ruth the cleaning person is incredibly cheerful and worked with the owners rich/kathy to make a special accommodation for us that REALLY made the end of our trip extra special. I miss the water and showers SO MUCH, so clean no taste or smell and strong hot water! The laundry room was also more than adequate and we had no problem sharing with the other travelers, never even ran into them in the laundry. The lanai was nice, and clean used the grill also met our neighbors from Russia and other countries who were also staying on the property. Our son had room to run around totally safe, beautiful plants and some toys, good garbage area kept clean and easy to use. Rich/kathy responded to everything incredibly quickly this is the same way I run my small business, and they aim to go above and beyond. Such a reassuring feeling. The area, Haiku is incredible, small village feel, with paia slightly larger nearby. Makawao up the road is an incredible arts community. This spot puts you in the middle of the island in some ways, so if you dont intend to do haleakala or hana highway, it may be too far. But if you want surf, hiking, and a rural country AWAY FROM THE RESORTS. you just couldnt do better than this for the INCREDIBLE price. Especially if you plan to be out alot and just need a place to cook, clean and sleep. We rent alot of places like this around the country and this was a step above in cleanliness. Not sure if this is allowed but if anyone has questions or wants advice email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try to help. Only advice would be: 1. Some basic cooking herbs, pepper/salt would be nice. Especially with market prices, we left some to help the next people! 2. ACCOUNT FOR TRAFFIC IN PAIA. there are 2 points of the day with bad traffic if you want to get to anywhere south or west on the island. You can go up through makwao and come down the haleakala highway to avoid it i think. but jsut be aware either way its 20-30 mins you should add to travel to malaae or lahaina. WOULD 110% RENT AGAIN, AND PROBABLY WILL! :-)
