A beautiful home tucked away in quiet area
I spent the month of August 2013 at the European Cottage. The place is tastefully decorated with beautiful artwork. The owner, Patrice, was great to work with and a wonderful person to boot. She made me feel very welcome. Her partner Rick stopped by to take care of some things around the property and he was great to talk to. Both went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying my stay. I needed to have a landline to work while I stayed there and Patrice had it installed and was there to show me the set up when I arrived in Black Mountain. The internet is very fast too and was rock solid the entire time I was there. The cottage is within easy walking distance to Lake Tomahawk and I wandered down for some of the summer concerts they had. You get a very nice small town experience in Black Mountain. There are some good restaurants in town and the pace is slower. But it's only a 15-20 minute drive to Asheville. And a short drive to the mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The backyard is something else. The deck is huge. I sat out there in the mornings, having coffee, looking at the mountains and listening to the birds. The landscaping is beautiful the pictures don't do it justice. On the practical side there is a great washer and dryer in the utility area under the house. The refrigerator is large with a very spoiling ice and water dispenser on the front. There is parking for one car in front of the house and more on the side if you have guests drop by. When I spoke to Patrice prior to arrival she asked what kind of wine I liked. When I arrived there was a nice bottle of red wine there for me. Thanks Patrice and Rick too for making my stay so comfortable and fun!
