Cute Cottage But Beware
I'd like to give this cottage 4 stars, but because of my experience with the owner, I am being generous by giving 2. Here is our correspondence: ME: We stayed at your cottage several weeks ago and I am now getting emails reminding me to write a review, which reminds me that I wanted to mention to you something about the cottage. When we checked in everything was neat and in order, except for that I noticed that the faucet in the bathroom still had toothpaste spit splatter on it. Then I noticed that the refrigerator doors and handle had smudges and hand marks on them. I cleaned them all off, but it did make me wonder what else hadn’t been done. Not exactly what one wants to see when they check into a rental. I decided that I would not leave that information in the review before contacting you first. ME: I didn’t hear back from you and am wondering if you received my email? OWNER: I appreciate your feedback. ME: well, thank you but that doesn't give me much of an explanation, or an apology that we found the cottage in an unacceptable condition upon arrival. ME: Are you really not going to offer me anything more than an "appreciation" for my feedback? Aaaannd, that's it. No explanation no apology, no reply, just a short, insincere response that didn't even address my concerns. Which is too bad because I would have considered staying here again if I had been offered a reasonable response. But I refuse to give someone who is so inept at customer service another dime of my money. Oh well. There are plenty of other places to stay in Oahu.
