Great house and great location
This was our first time visiting Saugatuck and the Lucy cottage was perfect for our 14 month old child, 5.5 yr old dog, and my wife and I. The house is only about a 5 minute walk from the heart of downtown Saugatuck so it is accessible but also a little bit away from the crowds. The accommodations were great, had everything we needed. We got to meet both Vicki and Bonnie so it was nice to get to know them and learn some of the in's and out's of the town. We even got to meet one of the neighbors which was really nice. We are not partiers so we really just did a lot of beach going, walks to get coffee (in the morning) and dinner/ice cream in the afternoon, and then early bed times. We actually spent a fair amount of time in the cottage as a result and loved it. Place was clean and Vicki/Bonnie both asked us multiple times if we had everything we needed (so good customer service). The house is also about a 3 minute walk from our favorite restaurant in town (which is actually the opposite direction from downtown) called the Southerner. We went twice. :) Other recommendations on food based on our small sample size (not in order of preference): Food: Wick's was good, but a little pricey (but overall worth it). Scooters Pizza (soooo good, got the Hawaiian pizza) Burrito Loco (great food and pretty moderately priced) Pumpernickel's (they have outside tables reserved for dog owners....awesome). We wish we went to Wally's, Ida's Red Kitchen, and maybe even the The Butler, but we are happy with where we went. Ice Cream: Only go to Kilwin's. Don't waste your time with any other place. We only tried Charlie's after our first time at Kilwin's and just kept going back to Kilwin's after that. Also, don't over think it, just get "Old Fashioned Vanilla." It's amazing and all that you need. Coffee: Just go to Uncommon Coffee. They have a walk up window (perfect for the dog owners) where we would order our coffee's and scones, and then sit in the back patio to enjoy our purchases. Book it and have a great time.
A secluded cozy retreat walking distance to downtown
