In-town bedrooms, sparsely furnished
We stayed three nights, two of them with our son, daughter-in-law, and their two small children. Positives: The bedrooms are quiet and well-separated from each other, and the shared dining and family room are excellent. The manager was very knowledgeable about events, places, and restaurants in town and made some good suggestions. It is a short and easy walk to the CMAC, where we attended a concert. Smoking Hot is a good barbecue place in town, with friendly service for families. Things we wished we had known: It is very much in-town, and is not secluded at all. The parking lot is next to student housing at the community college. There is a Walmart and Lowes in a shopping center across the road. That actually was an advantage since the furnishings are quite sparse and very inexpensive. We brought our own towels and bed linens, but there were other things we assumed would be there and were not-- a broom and dust pan, dish towels, and a table to sit and eat on the deck. There was another family staying in the level below us, which surprised us when they came home late-- our noise probably kept them awake too.
