My review for this place is mixed. It is not the sleek palace of perfection that some say, but it did have some positive attributes. When we arrived, we had been given an old code for the gate. It seems that was a mix-up with VRBO. Lance called us within 5-10 minutes, so he had a quick response. During that time we got to watch a man freaking out in the park across the street, which made my daughter very uncomfortable while we waited. Parking was a total pain, but that is no fault of the owner. It is just something you should be aware of. I don't know if the owner could work out a deal with a local garage, but a good parking option that isn't $40 a day would be nice. There was a sort of portable AC window unit, which was nice to have. It would have been uncomfortable without it. Something that would be helpful to have would be a microwave. Otherwise, for cooking it isn't bad. There is a hot plate with two burners, a toaster oven, and a small frig. There is also a grill outside in a common area. It was nice to have that option to be outdoors, and we did have my nephew and a friend over for a BBQ one evening. Unfortunately there was an old sausage still in the grill. The renter should be aware that there are some things in the pictures that are not correct. The fourth picture shows a bi-level bar. That bar is not there. The 9th picture with the table is how it really is (which was a nice table, it's not a problem, people should just know it is different). In the fourth picture you can also see that the shelf is slightly tilted forward. When I tried to take down something from the shelf, a tall vase with fake flowers fell forward to the floor. After a second time, I just removed it. Thank goodness it didn't break. A disappointment was the couch. The one in the picture looks great. That couch is no longer there. My daughter and I slept together on a cramped, not-so-comfortable futon. Not the end of the world, but again, the renter should be aware. The location is quite prime. Around the corner is a place where we rented go-cars, which was convenient and a lot of fun. It is easy to get to Fishermen's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square, so it is a good location for tourists who want to walk the area. As another renter mentioned, the stairs and hall don't give a good first impression. Dark carpet (& huge stuffed animal?), but a sign says they are supposedly changing it. I would try somewhere else next time, but it was ok, good location.
Amazing Location! Only 1 Block to Fisherman's Wharf & Sf Attractions!
