Amazing/prime location for visit to Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Forest/Great customer service
My son thought I was going to buy the place, or something similar, within 10 minutes of entering before we rushed off to Sequoia National Forest. I love touring real estate, I was surprised I could not locate any "missed opportunities" which I usually find in most homes listed for sale. My amazement at the darling touches throughout made me wonder if it was staged by a professional. so cute!... My only complaint that made me short it one star was a strong odor that permeated the house after we returned for the night. My son laughed and reminded me I am so sensitive to smells! But when he laid in bed he smelled it and was bothered. The smell alone would have tanked my entire view of the stay, but Melanie's prompt late night response response and suggestions helped quite a bit and saved the day. (I'm not certain of the time, but think it was 9 or 10 at night when we returned to detect the odor that was not present upon checking in. My gratitude that she cares enough to be monitoring text or email, whatever method I used to reach her, was immense.). She let me know scheduled for a maintenance call for the next day. When I asked later, hoping the problem was not too expensive to resolve, she advised that she and maintenance did not detect the odor, nor its source, and that the folks who stayed the next 3 nights did not complain. Nonetheless, she had already offered a refund of roughly 25%. If you are looking for a gem that has good old charm, and respect for its origins and location, look no further. Melanie's decor, planned provisions and customer service were an unanticipated bonus. Next time I'll book more than a one night stay.
