Nice getaway with husband, off the beaten path
Our stay at the Clarkdale Lodge was overall very pleasant, even though we both got sick and had to cut our stay short by a day. The apartment is just as pictured. The view from the rooftop patio was awesome; though unfortunately it was VERY windy the first two days of our stay so we didn't get to enjoy much time on the patio. The kitchen is stocked with basics as far as plates, utensils, cookware, and plenty of wine glasses. The only spices were salt and pepper; you'll need to bring your own beyond that. Best bet for any grocery shopping is in Cottonwood, where they have Safeway, Fry's, Food City. We did not get to meet Memi, the host. We were shown our room by Daniel, who also graciously came back to the room when we couldn't figure out how to adjust room temperature. (There's a knob inside the wall heater that you will need a flashlight to see, as far as any markings.) Recommendations to the host for comfort of future guests: (1) add a chest of drawers or set of shelves in the bedroom, so that guests can un-pack. This is especially desireable if staying more than one night. (2) provide info on a piece of paper or even a folder about things to do in Clarkdale and the surrounding towns, along with info about heater, wi-fi, laundromat, check-out time, etc.
