A special place!
I enjoyed my three days at Sue's place in October. The cabin is very quaint and the screened in porch provides quite a bit of extra living space. The bathhouse was impeccable with hot water for showers and an ecological method for dealing with waste. It's just a short walk to the mesa above the cabin with extraordinary views of the vast expanse of the desert and distant mountains. Another short walk up the road will take you to the Cascabel community centre. A car will allow you to explore this very special part of Arizona further with plenty of opportunities for solitude and awe-inspiring views that only the desert can provide. During my stay, I especially enjoyed spending time with some of the local folks, sampling mesquite tortillas, and seeing creatures I had never heard of like a coati and some javelins. Ask Sue to hook you up if you'd like to be accompanied on a walk in nature and gain a unique perspective on the land and life. I also quite enjoyed simple pleasures like seeing the roadrunner and family of quail that came close to the cabin in the morning. If you're a meditator, you might find the cabin has a special stillness from being built into the hillside, and the mesa above is a beautiful place to just sit and soak in the good vibes of the land.
