Cozy, convenient, clean, complete!
We were arriving later than we expected but Maria was able to meet us right when we got to the property. She could immediately help us with parking our car and getting the right parking permit so we didn't have to worry about that. The apartment itself was really nice, very clean and in excellent condition all around. The kitchen was well furnished, with a stove and oven, big fridge and dishwasher, all utensils etc. along with some basic condiments. We had no problems making the meals we wanted (no microwave, though). The rooms are all arranged in a straight line like a railroad car, where you have a hallway through all the rooms. We didn't mind that at all. We used the bed and the futon, both were very nice. It was pretty hot while we were there, only drawback was that the air conditioner was at the kitchen end, so not much of a breeze came to the far bedroom. A ceiling fan would have helped a lot but it wasn't a big issue for us. Location is terrific, right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Lots of little shops nearby, we also went to the nearby Walgreens and food store. Travel to Times Square was ridiculously easy: Go to this corner, find the small white shuttle buses, and get on. It drops us a block from Times Square. Getting back is just as easy, go to this street and find the white buses again. We never even had to wait for a bus, there was one boarding or waiting when we wanted to get on. There were a couple updated NYC guidebooks we could use, and Maria provided a nice guide to local services like a community pool, laundromat, deli, etc. It was a terrific place for our family of four to stay, we appreciated Maria's willingness to help us out with our odd schedule. The only bump in the road was that I didn't know that the "HomeAway" app was such a crucial part of checking in! Once we had paid and got the link to the app, the app provided a lot of details that were not anywhere else in the emails or website. Be sure to download and *USE* the app to get driving directions, communicate with the owner, getting transit, etc. The app really improved our stay once we figured out how important it was! Darryl Z
