So lovely – and so much more than expected!
It’s great having an owner on site to show you how everything works and help with any issues. After Cindy showed us the place, we did not see her – the property is next door and completely private – but she was readily available via phone whenever we had questions. Outside there is large walled courtyard with plenty of parking and a view of the hills of Joshua Tree beyond, then you go through a gate to another walled courtyard which is a wonderful oasis! Palm trees, pool (with glittery nights at night) hot-tub, outdoor grill/kitchen area, a bar, and many places to sit, eat and relax. The house itself was so whimsically decorated with a cowboys and Indians theme, and every item for comfort was thoughtfully provided. We were there in chilly January and the central heat kept things nice and warm (there is a gas fireplace too), as well as the cozy flannel sheets on the huge, gorgeous wooden bed in the master bedroom. Such a great location too – with the Oasis Visitor Center right down the street and the park entrance just beyond. Check out Glass Outhouse art gallery just a couple of miles east on 29 Palms Hwy– outdoor exhibits scattered around the desert, so funky and fun! We fell in love with Joshua Tree Park, the area, and this cottage, and a couple of days was just not enough -- next time, we will be there for a longer stay!
