Less than the sum of its parts!
Unfortunately, we were VERY disappointed by our stay at this cabin; for the following reasons: 1. The cost, for what we got, was far too high. Had it been half the price, we would look at the subsequent complaints as things that "you get what you pay for". However, given what we paid for this place, we most certainly did not get the value expected. 2. The "Pinehurst Lodge" is actually a mountain bar; since there is nothing around for miles, this is where people congregate. Music was blaring until after 3 in the morning, on a Wednesday! We could hear deep base music, people hollering and cars squealing, even with ear plugs. 3. The roof leaked... on our bed! After a heavy rain fall, the roof started leaking right over our heads in the middle of the night, as well as down the walls in the bathroom. 4. The fridge was "broken", which we managed to tweak and fix when we arrived. However, the host knew this and didn't warn us, so what would have happened had we not fixed it? In all fairness, they did show up with a cooler and ice, but that was hours after we arrived. They then proceeded to unplug the working fridge with all our stuff in it and didn't tell us (unintentionally). 5. No wine glasses. A small thing, but really? In a "romantic mountain get away"? 6. Paper plates; I realize they are probably easier, but again, for the cost of what we paid, give me some real plates to eat off of. 7. No fires, (ok, no big deal) AND no BBQ, which was not advertised. We did not find out until we got there. That communication would have been appreciated. 8. The Shower: you can't really "shower", given how the shower head is hanging - it either is too low, pointing straight down or is spraying water all over the side wall, away from where your standing. Take a bath instead. There were some good things: - Lots of hot water - Decent wifi - Soft, comfy blankets - Adorable, cozy atmosphere - Close to Kings Canyon gates - Beautiful scenery
