I would recommend this rental
My husband and two daughters and I stayed in this lake house for a week. What you don't see in the pictures is that the down stairs is a now beautiful, rustic master suite. Our bed was sooo comfortable and the pillows were awesome. I liked them so much I made sure to check the tags and can you believe they were all different! I can't find even one good pillow and they found at least 3 brands! The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs and suited our needs perfectly. My girls don't get as excited about pillows as I do. But they were excited about the kayaks! We lucked out and had two really nice days (it is April, after all) to get out on the water, paddling to the bridge and back is more of a work out than I'd like to admit but totally worth it. Also watching us amatures getting in and out of a kayak is hilarious, so even if you don't go out on the lake you will still be entertained ;) We didn't really use the fire pit because of the wind but there was plenty of wood available. I've never been to Castleton before, the closest super market was maybe 20 minutes away. We attempted to go to a sugar shop and ended up on a long dirt road - they were pretty smooth considering. Really beautiful scenery, and it was fun seeing the cows lying down. The sugar shop was confusing it looked more like a shack. There was a man on a tractor down the road who was kind enough to cut the engine just to give us directions. So there you have it: nice house, beautiful lake, and friendly people. If you're looking to do other activities, plan to do a little driving. For us this was a perfect retreat from busy lives. We painted, did puzzles, kayaked, watched movies, fished. It was a good time. And this owner was very responsive, which is a huge plus! Two thumbs up from this lady! 👍👍
Lakefront house, with huge two tiered deck and dock!
