Unit needs some serious TLC
Let me start by saying we love Maui, have been several times, and every time we go we stay at Hale Kamaole, and will continue to do so. It's pools, grounds and proximity to the beach make it the only condos we even consider booking. Having said that, Unit 124 was a disappointment. Upon our arrival it looked pretty clean, but upon further inspection we quickly realized it was actually not. From the moldy AC unit, shower mold, rusted shower head, and torn lanai screen that invited all manner of critters into the unit. There was also a huge build-up of dust on the ceiling fan blades and the bathroom exhaust fan. We have 2 young daughters that slept on the sofa bed for 18 nights but because of the wafer thin mattress and springs, I don't think they slept very well. The carpet in the living area and master bedroom are in dire need of replacement. Who puts shag carpet in a beach vacation rental unit anyway?? You can imagine what's living in those fibers. I know I sound critical and I did not take the writing of this review lightly, but for future renters you need to know what to expect, not just what the owner provided write up says. If there are any doubts or questions about what I'm saying, I took several photos to back it up.
