Cozy Santa Cruz property in great location
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children between 6 and 9) stayed at this lovely property during spring break. Location was great as it's only a 5-minute walk to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (where we went almost every day), but it's also quiet as it was far enough away from the noise at the Boardwalk. We also drove to Mystery Spot (about 15 minutes) and Monterey (about an hour). The townhouse-style is very clean and tidy. There are 2 bedrooms (kids room with bunk beds; master suite with walk-in closet and full bath) downstairs with the entry foyer, and kitchen/dining area and large living room are upstairs. Separate 1-car garage with beach bicycles and wagon along with dedicated parking directly in front makes for easy come, easy go. We bought food from Costco (about a 10-minute drive away) and cooked most of our own meals during our stay. The kitchen had pots, pans, and enough utensils, plates, bowls, cups for a family of 4 to use for about a day before running them thru the dishwasher. There are even fresh herbs hanging in pots. Microwave and electric conventional oven are "vintage", but work fine (though opening the oven door scrapes the knob of an adjacent drawer). There's a patio with a table perfect for outdoor dining, though we regret we didn't have a chance to use it (weather too windy during our stay, and we all had allergies) nor the hammock in the backyard downstairs. Some very minor issues (e.g. lights for stairs and kitchen appeared to be wired for master/slave instead of 3-way operation) didn't mar our otherwise excellent stay, and were easily worked around. We're looking forward to staying here again when we come back to Santa Cruz.
