Cosy bungalow for two couples or a small family vacation
Overall, we enjoyed our August 2016 stay at Cupcake Cottage. With 3 children (10,6, and 2) in tow, sleeping arrangements were a challenge. We didn't use the pull-out in the living room because we needed the common area free for the adults after bedtime, so ended up camping the eldest up in the loft on the floor (which was fine) and two in the queen size bed in the second bedroom. Kids loved the ladder to the loft and spent much time up/down/up/down. Be aware: the play set pictured is NOT actually present in the backyard. It was pretty disappointing the first day, since we had talked it up with the kiddos. Pros: great kitchen and porch, loved the BBQ, washer and dryer, nice master bedroom, living room had lots of seating, wifi was good, Disney channel for the kids, sufficient linens and pillows, fans, GREAT memory foam mattresses on the beds (so nice!!!!), a monopoly game and a stash of novels for reading that we contributed to when we left. Cons: needs some TLC and repairs (which we listed in detail for the property manager upon our departure as requested, such as the master shower head not functioning so we used the guest bath the whole time), no beach supplies to use (some towels and an umbrella would have been greatly appreciated--- we ended up buying some and carting them home), dog hair inherently everywhere and in everything (which I guess is to be expected in a 'pet friendly' rental). It's a 10-15 minute drive to the beach or town. Nice little neighborhood, very quiet during the week. When the list of repairs has been addressed, it's an excellent place to stay! Would rent it again.
