Charmer with character
Owner, Mark, is responsive and hospitable; he even let us in several hours early. It is a charming place, as advertised, and is located near many attractions - Disneyland, Newport Beach, Zoo, Discovery Cube, and CSUF Arboretum, to name a few. It was adequate size to sleep my wife and I with 2 young boys. The place has cable TV, wifi and a Blue Ray / DVD player, but no garbage disposal or sharp cutting knives. It's centrally located in a really cool part of Santa Ana, walking distance to stores and coffee shops with lots of character. The place was very clean and tidy. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it was a bit too minimalist, which could easily be improved. Things like dish soap and toilet paper were scarce, although he did offer to restock anything that ran out. (I just went out and bought more TP). Also, silverware, cups and flatware are an interesting combo. For example, the spoons were enormous - too big for my kids to use or to eat a Yoplait yogurt with (because they wouldn't fit in the container). Other things I'd suggest is a comfy couch or chair. But my wife countered that hotels don't have comfy sofas and couches either so I shouldn't complain. But I'd much rather rent a whole house like this charmer with character that a sterile hotel. I highly recommend this VRBO A+++++
