Neat neighborhood close to beer
On our way to Stowe we needed a place to stay for a couple of nights. We picked this place because it was near the lake and Walking distance to 3 breweries. We arrived late on Saturday and got a great recommendation on where to eat from the owner (Arts Riot). The next morning we drove into downtown for breakfast and to see what Burlington was like. Downtown is a very easy 10 minute, 30 mph drive away and worth a visit. Walk the path above the lake and check out the history. Back to the apartment. The unit is on the first floor of a large house the owners live in. They were there but we rarely heard any noise and they are not obtrusive in anyway. The unit is as described in the listing. The bed was comfortable, and the place had everything we needed, including an umbrella (which we needed for our stroll). We parked on the street out front. If you look at Google satellite you will see that the place isn't right on the lake but it almost is. The backyard (which has some lovely flowers) stretches out in that direction. There are 2 swimming beaches within a very short walking distance. Our reservations were handled professionally and the place was pretty easy to find. The house is part of an older neighborhood built around a park tucked in up against the lake. One way in and out. Pretty cool. There is a walking trail to the south that runs song the beach and leads to the road to Switchback brewery (10-15 minute easy walk). In another 10-15 minutes you can be at Zero Gravity and Queen City breweries and then it's a 10 minute walk home from there.
Historic neighborhood, downtown Burlington on Lake Champlain! How cool is that!
