Great vacation spot!
Overall, we had a great time!! The cabin was adorable and was the perfect space for our family of 6. We LOVED the lake. It is relatively small and shallow, which made is great for the kids. It was so great to be in a place where I was comfortable letting my 8 yr old go out in the kayak alone! (That never would have happened on a larger lake with speedboats, etc . . . ) My 9 year old caught her first fish and was so proud of herself! My 12 & 14 year olds loved the kayaks. The kitchen was very well equipped (much better than I expected.) The furniture is slightly different than in the pictures (nicer!) There were really only 2 things that I was disappointed with. Water pressure in the main bathroom was really bad. Showering in there was a joke, so all 6 of us used the shower in the master bedroom. (Actually, it would have been really nice to have a bathroom upstairs - but that wasn't a big deal.) The other thing was the lack of communication possibilities. There was no WiFi (though that didn't surprise me as it wasn't on the listing) and there was no landline. My cell (Virgin Mobile) didn't get service anywhere in the UP, so it was completely useless. My husband's cell (Verizon) got some signal, but it was very spotty unless he got in the van and drove out to the road. So, that made it difficult to make any plans. There were brochures in the cabin (which was great) but they all require you to call or check out a website for details. So that was disappointing. But, other than that, we had a very relaxing and comfortable time. The weather was awesome! (Bug spray is a MUST - the mosquitoes nearly carried away our youngest ;) ) The kids loved the "tunnels" upstairs (it's actually storage space that is empty along the walls, but they sure loved crawling through it!) The animals on the walls were great! Very rustic and interesting (also a hit with the kids.) Overall a great stay!
