What a great place to stay in Tucson!
This is such a nice, well-outfitted, convenient base from which to explore Tucson. I had a great time staying here and hope to return in the future. The place is well described, and the photos do a good job of showing what it's like. I didn't realize until I got there, however, that the bedroom space is a loft overlooking the living area. It's very airy and the high ceiling makes it feel bigger. The kitchen is extremely well-outfitted and I cooked every night with ease. Everything was clean, in great condition, and just what is needed. Susan is an exceptionally organized and efficient host. Her communications were so detailed and clear, and every detail was taken care of effectively. She is clearly a real pro at this, and puts a lot of effort into making her guests' experience a happy one. I was amazed at how easy it was to operate without a car from this location--and I don't think that would be true from many other spots in Tucson. Having a group of cacti right out the front door in the little patio brought the desert closer. Having the streetcar a couple blocks away was super-useful. I was surprised at how quiet it was given how close this location is to the bustle of 4th Avenue. I'm not from the SW, so I was concerned about the fierce summer weather. It was 108 degrees several days while I was there! But the AC and fan in the carriage house work perfectly, as if those temperatures are nothing. Stay here if you can--it will be a lovely experience!
