Good value on Oahu
4.5 stars, but I rounded up. This property is a good choice if you're looking for more space than the high rise condos of Waikiki or want a more chill stay on Oahu for a mainland-reasonable price. We had 4 adults + a baby in a pack 'n play and it was tight. The bedrooms were nice, but small for fitting in extra cots or the pack 'n play to accommodate extra guests. We ended up squishing 2 adults into each bed and wedging the baby's bed into the room with the smaller bed. As for chill, the air conditioning makes sleeping quite comfortable and compensates for the slightly close quarters. The bedroom doors have to be open to cool the main living area, but it can be done. Also, there is a pretty nice beach at the end of the road that is totally walkable if you're not carrying a bunch of stuff. The kitchen is a bit sparse on the tools/dishes front, and there isn't much seating for eating prepared meals, plus no dishwasher, so keep that in mind when planning whether to eat in or go out. We mostly stuck to sandwiches, fruit, and cereal, then ate out for hot meals. Non-peak travel times aren't bad (20-30 min to Honolulu), but rush hour is long and awful (75-90 min back from Honolulu). I mention this because many of the restaurants are closer to the city. Also, keep this in mind if planning to see/do stuff in Honolulu area. It takes a really long time to get from one side of town to the other, so pick a side, go early or wait for rush hour to pass, and stay there all day. Our favorite activities while we were here were the USS Missouri and Germaine's Luau. The USS Arizona memorial was nice, but they cancelled our first appointment for 'wind', forcing us to reschedule, plus it was hot outside and we all got some level of sunburn - you've been warned!
