Beautiful cabin.......
We brought our 2 teens and my mother in law up to Flagstaff for an event at NAU for 3 nights this March. We decided to rent this cabin instead of getting two hotel rooms. It was a very beautiful cabin in a local subdivision. It was very quiet given the proximity of the neighbors. I would suggest making sure you have the email from the homeowner ready to go before your arrival. You will need the lock box code to gain entry. When we arrived the cabin was toasty warm, someone had the fireplace on the main floor going (thank you) and we were looking forward to playing some pool, watching some TV and relaxing after a long drive. The design of the cabin is gorgeous but because the baseboard heaters don't work (note said not to turn them on), and heat doesn't travel down, the basement where all the fun things are located was as cold as a meat locker. We found 3 space heaters and had them all on, yet still even hours later, it wasn't possible to enjoy the space. The flip side of this is the loft was SO hot the kids had to open windows to be able to sleep and even then my son, who is hot natured, was miserable even with the fan. Once we were able to figure out the heat issue it was much nicer. We had to rig a fan we brought from home aimed down the staircase to force the hot air down and start the space heaters mid afternoon in order to be able to enjoy the basement after dinner. Then we had to turn the fireplace down in order to cool the loft before bed. (An electric fireplace would be a great addition for the basement to quickly heat that area in the winter.) As for the wifi, the router would not assign IP addresses, you might need to manually assign an IP for each device...then we all were able to connect. The wifi does drop way off in the basement due to the nature of wifi. This will cause the TV to buffer, but we were able to get it connected and watch shows. There were many games to chose from and we enjoyed a few of them sitting around the dinning room table. The grill worked very well for dinner one night, and we enjoyed being on the porch watching the woodpeckers. It was beautiful and peaceful. The drive into Flagstaff was quick and painless and it was nice to not be in the middle of town. I think this cabin will work for almost everyone, except those that are heavy into TV or are looking for something very remote. It was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our time and would definitely stay here again
