I have rented through VRBO before, staying in cramped basements and dreary cottages. The coach house in Cabbagetown is, by a wide margin, the nicest place I have stayed. The guys have furnished it with loving attention to details, providing top-notch kitchen supplies and a vast collection of fun bathroom products. I only wish I'd had an opportunity to cook there, but the nearby restaurants are fabulous. The travel information provided includes a charming book of walks around Toronto, which we used extensively. The bed was comfy, the pillows thick and the robe soft. Our son slept quite comfortably on the modified sofa, but he would have very much appreciated a conveniently-placed reading lamp. My only concern for other travelers is the spiral staircase - it is quite steep and narrow, and might be awkward for those with limited mobility. Speaking of mobility, there's a bike share station just one block east, and a good bike trail along a road two blocks west. Or, if you don't want to explore, sit in the garden and get acquainted with the resident raccoons. Superb experience across the board.
