Quiet timeshare community near local attractions but not too close to Tourists
Property is quite, guarded gate community with other timeshares but also on a country club course with some local homes. Walking distance to the pool, very nice pool, open late and was never really crowded Short drive to Beaches (Surfside & Huntington State Park), Marsh Walk, Great Local Marina with rental boats (Beach House Boat Rentals -highly recommended). House is "duplex" so you share a wall with neighbors, but never heard noises, save for the occasional door open/closing. Clearly built in 80's but very clean and well maintained, Property manager is very responsive and deals with issues quickly. Good for 4 people, 1 king, 1 queen, there is a pull out sofa to accommodate more people, but we didn't use it. 2 TVs, cable is provided via the internet so it's not very reliable, this was not a big issue since we don't vacation to watch tv :), they do provide netflix as well. The location is great if you want to pretend to be local and not in the heart of Myrtle Beach, there's going to be traffic getting to the tourist areas, but it's a 15-20m drive (use the bypass). so not bad. Lots of things provided for you, beach chairs, towels, lots of things in the kitchen, even had a few bottles of wine there for us. This was our first home rental, so compared to a hotel you have much more room, additional comforts and at a lower cost, if you don't mind driving to the beach. The local beaches are more family friendly and less of the tourist traps and shops, again this was a good thing for us. Great restaurants at the Marsh Walk, and despite it seeming like a "bar scene" most very family friendly and laid back. Recommend Wicked Tuna(great sushi), Salt Water Creek Cafe, Captain Dave's, Egg's Up for Breakfast.
