Cozy cabin with the basics
We stayed here for our wedding weekend and found it to be a cute and cozy place to be. We loved being in the trees and it was quiet compared to the several times we've stayed in hotels in Flagstaff. My favorite parts were the charm of the wood construction, the gas fireplace/stove, and the nice big deck. It was stocked with the essentials, though we did find some of the pots and pans were fairly worn - it's understandable that older cooking supplies would be in a rental property, but we did notice a difference compared to what we have at home especially with regard to eggs sticking to the pan. There was more than enough space for the two of us, but I'd imagine there would be a bathroom backlog if both bedrooms and the attic/loft beds were occupied since there is only one shower. Not necessarily negatives for us, but definitely items to consider if you have a lot of plans like hiking/skiing/kayaking that lend themselves to a lot of people wanting to shower at the same time. We did encounter three or so wolf spiders in the property over the 4 days/3 nights we were there. There was also a miss around the WiFi. We booked the cabin five months before our wedding and about a week before our check-in, we got an email saying we would not have internet access. The owner replaced the router over Labor Day weekend but the CenturyLink call center was not open on September 5 and he was unable to have anyone set up the router on September 6, 7, or 8 before our check-in. We were given the option to cancel our reservation but no recourse for the change in amenities if we kept the reservation. With only a couple of days before the trip and it being our wedding weekend, we weren't in a place to postpone our stay or increase our budget to find something comparable last minute. We have family in the Philippines that could not attend our wedding and not being able to post pictures from the cabin was detrimental to our stay. The owner said he would change the listing to not advertise WiFi due to the finicky nature of the service out there, but two months later (writing this on November 6, finally catching up post-wedding) I still see "We will provide you with access to WIFI, but no cable TV." in the property description as well as references to WiFi in the "Stereo" and "Television" descriptions of the Entertainment section. It is unclear whether those issues have been resolved - if WiFi is important to your stay, I would definitely ask whether it will be available.
