Functional but disappointing
We stayed at this property in February 2016. We were two families, six children among us raging in age from 7-12 years old. First, the skiing was amazing. Not very many people and lots of snow, hardly any lines. But we were disappointed with this property. Saying this is a ski in/ski out is misleading. Its a walk to the ski in/ski out, and the ski in/ski out part is hard for beginning (and even intermediate) skiers (depending on grooming). The trail "in" is very hard to find and very long and flat, and the trail "out" requires a steep (blue) downhill to gain speed before a flat and slightly uphill in order to make it to a run. Also, we found the living area inadequate for that many people. There might be beds for that many, but there is not enough living space for that many (a small kitchen and small family room). Also, there were things broken on the property, such as a knob on the stove, the kitchen faucet spout, a handle on the door fell off, and one light switch continually shocked people. We were SUUUUUPER bummed not to have a laundry on the premises. The kids would come in from playing in the snow or skiing and they are wet and cold and there is no way to dry their clothes in the condo. But our biggest problem was the layer of dust that was all over the property, the drapes, the blinds, the floor, the fans. They had laid out towels and shampoo and lotion trying to make it nice. The granite and kitchen was clean when we came. So, it was functional and it served it's purpose for our time. But next time we ski Mammoth we will probably stay at The Village Lodge.
