Shelter From the Storm
Sandpiper cottage was a cozy place to weather the coastal storm on the edge of Hurricane Joaquin. High surf pounded the beaches and water flowed up to the foot of Fayetteville, but we stayed dry. The white tile floors, cozy enclosed porch, well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living room made for a very pleasant stay. The washer and dryer are a plus. We enjoyed local restaurants, especially Shuckin' Shack and Michael's. The North Carolina Aquarium and Carolina Beach State Park are nearby. We appreciated all the pamphlets, maps and booklets of things to do. We enjoyed the selection of books and movies. It would help to have instructions for the TV and DVD.
