Hey folks, we had a great time at the lodge. I would recommend arriving during daylight, as it can be tricky getting to the lodge your first time. We came there for 3 nights to spend time with my young adult children. After searching for houses in the area on VRBO for about 3 weeks we decided on this one. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. If you have teens-young 20's kids and want to bond with them this is the place. Their is nothing that we needed in the house. The downstairs game room is fabulous and we spent most of our time there and the outdoor fireplace and hot tub. We did bring dinner for 3 nights with us, I would recommend doing that for 2 reasons, one: most restaurants are at least 10 mins away, and two: you will not want to leave this house. Thank you to Cheryl and her family for opening up this house to strangers. If we go to this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to rent this house. We did go to Waynesville one day, while the kids were skiing and had a great time there. Waynesville is about 15 mins away, max, and it is a great little walking/shopping town, probably one of the beast general stores in the country! We also had lunch at Bogarts, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
