What a great stay!
My family and I had a wonderful time. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. I really liked the living room with its panoramic view and cozy furnishings. There was also satellite TV for the one rainy day we had. The kitchen was well equipped with not only pots and pans but spices and a few extra food items, and I loved the induction stove and granite countertops. The new wraparound deck was excellent for lounging. There were tons of water toys to play with; we used the kayak and paddle boat, as well as a bunch of the floating devices for swimming. The shoreline is a bit tricky for young ones, my children are 5 and 3. The rocks are a bit slippery but they were still able to wade in using grippy water shoes, and they were able to used the provided inflatable water chairs and life jackets to float around with us in the deeper areas. The lake itself was alright. It may have just been the week when I was there, but the water was very murky and had a greenish hue. It still wasn't a big deal and we had no problems swimming, and other people were swimming and boating as well. One morning I took the kayak to the southwest corner of the lake and there was a green algae film on the surface. This was a minor issue for me because I never saw it in front of this cottage. The fire pit is right near the water which is great for watching the sunset, but you have to be a bit careful with the kids because one side slopes toward the fire. As long as you are careful this is a minor issue. Overall this place was excellent and I would love to stay here again! Thanks Abby! One last thing, I am also greatful that they allow pets; this was a huge benefit vs other cottages we looked at.
