Lovely stay in Kihei
We had a great time Maui. The Kihei Shores is a well kept and very quiet complex. It sits back far enough from the road (S. Kihei Rd) that you don't hear it. It's a quick walk across the street to Kamole Beach III, which is a wonderful spot to watch the sunset on the grass. We did this most nights. The master bed was very comfortable, the quest bed was a bit hard and I was glad I got to sleep in the master :) It was very convienent to have the washer and dryer right in the unit and having two bathrooms!! The pool area is nice but we never used it. It is oddly placed at the way back of the property and was very crowed the one night we thought we might sit in the hot we didn't. The kitchen has most items, but a few that would be really helpful would be: dish towels, chip clips, measuring cups and spoons and any kind of baking pan or dish (like a 9x13) or even a cookie sheet. There was nothing to bake fish on. We purchased a small pan at the local thrift store for $1.99 and a small dish towel. We used the blender, toaster and coffee pot everyday. We appreciated the coffee filters, laundry soap, shampoo and bath gel..even a hair dryer in the master bath. Nice! The beach chairs and towels were great to use. There are several masks and snorkels..but the two pairs of fins at the condo are broken. We purchased some at Walmart for $15. Jumie was super awesome at responding to all my questions and helping us when we locked ourselves out of the condo. Oops! There is ONLY one set of keys. BE YE WARNED!!! A good tip would be to always place them back in the outside lockbox after you open the door..Don't even take them inside. It's too easy to lock the door and then walk right out without the key. Hard lesson. Jumie was able to get a hold of the property manger and she let us in. It was 5 hours of frustration. SO please learn from our mistake :) Two awesome places to eat: Ki'hei Cafe for breakfast and Paia Fish Market Southside for a mahi fish burger, both places are on S. Kihei DR and about a one 1.5 mile walk from condo. Go EARLY for breakfast as the line can be ridiculous, but it's SO worth it. The fish burger will be your best on the island..and only $10. Melts in your mouth. We ate there three times! Hope that helps :)
