Cozy, comfortable cabin
My husband and I stayed at Serenity Mountain Cabin for a quick anniversary weekend. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and nicely appointed. We very much enjoyed sitting on the upstairs porch with a drink and listening to the cicadas and frogs Friday night. The driveway was challenging in our front-wheel drive Highlander, but we made it! Saturday was spent hiking in the Great Smoky Mt. Natl. Park. The cabin is so close to Bryson City, we went into town for dinner both nights, and for a late breakfast Sunday, but the cabin feels secluded and very private. And it is close enough to drive to Cherokee or even Gatlinburg- we hiked in the Tennessee part of the park. The only drawback of the entire weekend was that Saturday, when we got back from a long and exhausting hike, soaked by a rain storm, the combination lock on the cabin door would not work! After calling the owner, we were able to get in, thank goodness, and the 15-20 minute delay did not ruin our otherwise perfect day. I would suggest that the owners provide a key rather than relying on a tempermental combination lock. We would certainly consider returning to this cabin another time, but in winter we would need a 4-wheel drive for sure!
