Quaint rental property.
We stayed at the Octavia House in April of 2016 for 2 weeks. There were 7 of us, 3 of which were little children. The house was a great home away from home, plenty of mirrors, which the 2 year old loved. Every room had a ceiling fan, (being as I tend to be hot all the time that was a plus.) There is Central air but I love having the windows open. Plenty of seating space for lounging or eating at tables. We cooked a little bit but most times we spent at my daughters who also lives in Jacksonville (they had a beautiful baby boy while we were there). The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space (all closets have hangers). WiFi available, which the older grandkids liked. Televisions in every bedroom and in the lounge. Fresh linens, and extra sheets for all beds. Washer and dryer in utility room with laundry soaps available. We had a 6 month old too so having this was nice. The kitchen is fully functioning with all the pots and pans, dishes, glasses, coffee cups etc. Bathrooms were clean and great pressure in the shower heads, extra toiletries in closet if needed. Big deck off the the kitchen/lounge area which lead into a secure fenced in back yard (which was great as our 2 year old granddaughter loved being outside). There is a park within walking distance with a sanded playground for the kiddies, we also found further down the road a nice park with asphalt trails that you could walk or ride bikes. The neighborhood was in the older part of Jacksonville but there was plenty of shopping and restaurants to go eat at. Our favorite for breakfast was the Kettle Diner. Good food, friendly people. great prices.Just a few mins to the newer part of Jacksonville were more shopping and restaurants. We recommend the Carolina Ale House for lunch or dinner. Overall we had a great experience and would suggest the Octavia House for your vacation rental place.
