Beautiful View as Pictured in the photos - Great Retreat
The view from the porch of the mountains is exactly as pictured and different times of the day it is even more spectacular. The room photos are as shown and are actually larger than they appear in the photos. The living dining area spans the length of the house with plenty of sitting areas for everyone to gather. The deck wraps around the sides of the house and the length of the house with multiple areas for people to sit or tables to eat from. Much of the deck is under roof so the outdoors can be enjoyed even if it is too sunny or rains. House was clean and well maintained. There is a sleep sofa in the den and in two of the bedrooms so there is space for children to sleep. There is one large master room upstairs with a huge walk in closet and bathroom. On the lower level is another Master suite with bathroom. There is a ping pong table in the lower level and area for children and teens to hang out. It would be nice to have a TV on that level. We were in Asheville for a family function and relatives from the Piedmont and from Asheville joined us for dinner. The kitchen area is well stocked and plenty of space for everyone to move around and prepare food. We ordered from the Ingles Deli on the main road which will prepare a turkey or ham dinner with 3 side dishes which can serve 15. We also enjoyed eating at Nacho's and Beer the local Mexican restaurant, great menu and delicious. The owners meet us to take us to the property as it is tucked away in the development and gave suggestions of places to eat and areas to see. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 2 miles away and Asheville downtown, west and east side are easy to reach. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are a half hour drive. It was a very pleasant stay and we enjoyed watching the mountains and the cool mountain air. Like a resort retreat and worth the drive.
