My dog and I spent a week at the cabin in mid September. It was exactly what I wanted: secluded, quiet, well-equipped, peaceful. The back field is huge (great for the dog) and the view out the front is wonderful. No trouble staying cozy on the cold nights, and although the living room can get quite warm on sunny days (all those windows!), the bedrooms stayed cool. Plenty of hot water, lots of books, lovely spots to sit and eat breakfast in and outside the house. Brenda is very responsive but respected my desire for solitude and has a lovely sense of humor. Solo travelers: I felt quite safe there (not because of the dog, she's 14#, arthritic, and 3-legged,) but when the oven ignites it sounds almost exactly like a car door slamming, which startled me horribly the first night. Wine helped. Bring wine.
