We hope to return
Our recent 3-day stay at this property was a true joy. The location is magical, quiet, inspiring. While the road to the property is imperfect, we were prepared as we arrived in a 4x4 to use in the park to explore backroads for my photo expedition. But, my other car, which I affectionately call "the Nordic Princess," would have never made it over the bumps and dips of incoming roads. The house is tasteful and relaxing. It was a bit too chilly for the outdoor shower/bath, but maybe next time! The owner provides a perfect kitchen (and I wish to send her some local olive oil from my neck of the woods) with ample tools to prepare your meals "at home," and even sharp knives! And the cookbook collection! 5-Stars. Bring your own coffee or tea for the morning. (We were fully prepared for that as we did not expect that sort of service.) The bedroom is relaxing with a lovely desert view to take in while perusing a remarkable library of books and more. The town of Joshua Tree offers interesting food choices and grocery options. If you are picky or prefer wide offerings of snacks, foods, refreshments, etc., stop at one of the chain markets in Yucca Valley first. Then make yourself at home high above the Mojave Desert, enjoy the view, and savor one of the books in the home's library. Chillax!
