Kind & accommodating owner but dated bath/decor
Nice, quiet, well-kept condo complex. Tennis courts, convenient parking. Unit has 3rd floor sunny deck with new deck furniture including useful sun umbrella; pretty views of lake peeking through trees across large grassy field perfect for playing football. Inside condo needs updating: bathroom does not seem to have changed since 1980's including cracked wooden toilet seat. Toilet often ran & we had to open the tank to lift the float that was sticking. Radiator next to toilet is rusted & mirror is desilvering; around base of toilet needs thorough cleaning. Shower did have plenty pressure & hot water. Kitchen supplies comprehensive except no wine glasses. Mattresses seem newish and firm but pillows need replacing (stained & smell of sweat). Loft has terrifying cast iron spiral staircase that was 10 year old's dream but parents' nightmare. We slept up there while child took queen bed downstairs. Bunk bed is sandwiched under eaves & will only fit small children. Ugly pad/cover is sandwiched into skylight screen over bunk bed. Our kid could not feel comfy there. Carpet in main area is badly stained. Love seat is comfy. Large dining table accommodates playing games/meals. Many good games/toys to amuse kids & whole family. Walls in bedrooms are bare and uninviting. Location is long drive over winding roads to get to any decent restaurant, so bring your own food & cook at the condo. This is a good place to stay if you want to be outside mostly & have little kids who can use the bunk beds. Maybe you'd trust a teenager to sleep in the loft but then you'd have no privacy in the living/kitchen areas. I'm mystified by the many 5-star reviews. In closing, I say the owner was very generous to us in letting us use her private sheets since I hadn't read the statement that no linens are provided. We were willing to use sleeping bags, but she insisted we could use her things. The owner forgot to email us the key code but luckily we were finally able to reach her by phone right as we pulled up to the condo. I would recommend this place to a couple or family with little kids if you want to stay put at the lake & cook at home. We did go for a walk in nearby woods.
