A nice vintage cottage with a beautiful view
My wife and I stayed two nights at this cottage and found it very clean and comfortable, right on the shores of Lake Huron. This is an older property that is well-kept and the decor reminded me of my family vacations from childhood many years ago. The owner is very responsive, and when we had a problem figuring out the TV/Roku he responded to email immediately. The Boathouse is well furnished and is a nice addition, but it was too cold during our stay to hang out there. Go slowly to find the entrance off the highway (marked by a strange steel cross with some reflector lights on it). When you park, you will enter through the back porch, but don't be discouraged by the poor impression that the back of the house gives. The rest of the cottage is great. The price is very reasonable for this property, although there is an additional fee when you reserve it that I didn't see on the VRBO page--either a $59 non-refundable fee for insurance of up to $1500 damage, or a $1500 refundable deposit. We chose the second option. Unless we missed this, I feel that this fee should be stated prior to putting in a reservation request. All in all, this cottage was a great choice for us!
