4 night stay at Casa del Campo
Just got back from our 4 day weekend in Grass Valley. First time ever in this area. Great weather and Great hosts, Peter and Catherine Perkins at their Casa del Campo B&B. We stayed in the Casita Mexicana, the upstairs portion of the 2-unit cottage. Casita Fresca is on the bottom. Either one is a winner, though upstairs you get another wall of window light. We were greeted by the "welcoming committee" of Boo and Marley, darling dogs that totally added to the fun there. Our casita had everything in it you would look for in a fully furbished large studio. Were able to park right in front. Catherine's artwork and crafts, and Peter's handy touch is everywhere to be seen in the Casitas, inside the house and throughout the property. Casa del Campo is located at the end of a country lane and the Owners have created a wonderful sanctuary for themselves on their 2+ acres, that we all are fortunate enough to be allowed to share with them. Prices are very reasonable. Besides wanting to enjoy the touristy things like the old downtown, same in Nevada City, and the Empire Gold Mine State Park, we were also on an exploratory trip for places to move to some day. The Grass Valley area is definitely now on the list. We cannot thank the Owners enough for their enthusiasm, professionalism, knowledge of the area and all the small touches that make a great B&B. We are also on a continued spiritual journey and were surprised that Catherine and Peter also had a lot of great input for us in that area too. We looked for a long time for places close to downtown so we could be "where the action is" and where very happy we chose a place away instead. It is only 10 minutes in, and we found it not inconvenient at all. Catherine's art took our hearts and so we took a piece of it with us. We now have a "window" over our Kitchen sink where it was just a blank wall before! Thanks again to the Perkins and we will return again!
