Old and in the middle
Up on the 2nd floor of a sturdy brick house built in 1758, I half expected to look out the window and see Redcoats clop-clopping by. Picked on a whim as an alternative to the hotels on Frederick's outskirts, I was bowled over by charm, comfort and quality. Parks across the street nd the pubs, restaurants and shops of Market St 3 blocks away, I couldn't have asked for a better location. The Pearce's were gracious, attentative and available hosts. Their jerry-rigged AC kept us comfy in the Maryland summer heat. I hated to leave.
