Was a great stay until we came home
This cabin was very homey, apparently the bed bugs that lived there thought so too. Our stay was fantastic, it was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nice area to walk or drive to trails. We even got to see snow up at Ponderosa. It was nice that our dog was able to come with too. She supplied towels, hand soap and stuff to cook with and wash dishes. She cleaned right before we got there so we got to stay in a pretty clean cabin, with the exception of a few spiders and webs around. But the heating was great, as it was greatly needed at night. It was very very cold at night. I did not expect for this place to have bed bugs at all and sure enough there was. Now, this doesn't mean that the place was dirty, but I'm sure the bed bugs chose their location because of all the visitors. My girlfriend didn't notice until a day after we got home and unpacked that she got bit, and when she did notice she of course just thought they were mosquito bites. Until a few days later more appeared, and then days later more, than a couple weeks passed and still more appeared. That's when she started getting concerned that it might just be something else. And so she did research and bed bugs seemed to be the match. She told me about it and I doubted her until one night she was on the phone and she totally freaked out. I got up and looked and sure enough there they were. We were petrified and had to throw out our mattress. We were sleeping on the couch for a couple weeks and my girlfriend was the most paranoid person ever after this. We cleaned to the extreme, bombed our whole place and sprayed everything. For now we haven't noticed any more. But from the research it said they could live up to 12 months without eating. We are hoping we completely got rid of them but who knows. I just know that if we knew this place had bed bugs we would have never considered staying here. My advice would be to ask the owner to replace the mattress and bedding before staying here. It was a great trip but a nightmare when we got home.
