Cabin was great for our get-a-way vacation
This was the first time we had ever rented a cabin and since camping is what we're used to and we knew the cabin was older, (built in 1947) we were prepared to "rough it" somewhat. To our surprise and delight, the cabin was rustic in style but well appointed with amenities and was very clean. We were quite pleasantly surprised. The cabin had everything we needed for a pleasant stay and more. To start with, it was right on the lake with its own stairs leading right to the shore. The cabin might be older but has been completely updated. It even had air and Wi-Fi. It had everything we needed to prepare our meals including a propane grill. There was a deck overlooking Lake Huron with comfortable chairs. The cabin also has a closed in porch with large windows giving an excellent view. The owner, Bryan, quickly answered an online question we had and the reservation process was painless. He and Laura are friendly and accommodating and are concerned that their guests have a great time. Laura was knowledgeable about local events and resources and Bryan even lent us his binoculars so we could do some freighter watching. We will definitely be staying at Lightkeepers again.
