A little more Myrtle Beach than Kiawah...
Walking up to the condo, there is nothing appealing about the outside (dingy old door). Inside the condo, the carpet needs replacing, at least half the outlets did not work, master bedroom blinds did not work, guest bedroom blinds had a paper clip to open/close them, wall spot patched with spackle in guest bathroom, possessed microwave, and the patio furniture is dirty and starting to fall apart. The decor needed an update as well. This is the third property we have rented on Kiawah via VRBO and the first through a national property management company-Wyndam. When I called to inquire about checking in early, I had to talk to two people in Florida before I got a number for someone in Charleston (was denied of course). Both prior properties we rented via VRBO provided not only beach towels, but supplied beach chairs as well. When I called to ask about them, and got a rude guy on the phone who said he had been working on a Kiawah for 20 years and he didn't know of anyone who provided beach towels. If I had known, I would have brought our own & saved us $100 in dumb towels. We have rented through VRBO quite a bit. This is the first time I have written a poor review. One reason I like VRBO is that people take pride not only in their properties, but also in their customer service. There was none of that with this place. The location, view, and accessibility to the beach were nice, but it just was not up to par with the other properties we have rented on Kiawah.
