Great Cabin with Lots of Privacy
This cabin is just as described - clean, outfitted with all the amenities you need, and offering a lot of privacy. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away (we had brought our mountain bikes and rode there a couple of times). You have to cross one semi-busy road and then you enter an area where you can take a nice walk/ride through the woods to get there. Once at the lake, you will have to walk down a bit to get to the water (then back up when you are through which takes some effort). When we went, the weather was fantastic yet the beach was quite empty. At times it felt like our own private beach. You can also very easily drive to the beach in about 3 minutes, and there is a place to park right near where the path down to the water starts. Though the cabin is pet friendly (and we brought our dog), there was no evidence that there had been any pets there. That's probably because the floors are either ceramic or wood. When we first got there, there was a faint smell of smoke, so the people before us must have been smokers, but the smell dissipated fairly quickly. There was satellite TV, which we didn't use too much, and a VCR player with some VCR tapes to choose from. Also some games to play. As another reviewer said, the Bungalow Restaurant was a good place to eat. We took a day-trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes - about an hour away, which was worth doing. This rental is totally worth it. We would definitely consider renting it again if we come back to the area.
