Hidden Gem 1.5 miles from Sugarbush
My family and I loved our stay at the Berghaus! To begin with, Joerg (the owner) was extremely prompt with his communication with me, and he provided an excellent description as far as all the amenities the house had. When we walked into the cabin for the very first time, it smelled clean and fresh. The outside was well lit, which made for unpacking our car very easy. There were clean linens and pillow cases on all the beds and clean towels were provided - just as the listing described. The house had plenty of space for my family and their friends. The layout of the house is also perfect - one bedroom with twin beds and one bedroom with a queen size bed are downstairs on the main level. The two full bathrooms are also on the main level. Upstairs are one queen size bedroom with a balcony and a TV. And the bunkroom with 4 bunks and a TV are also upstairs. My son brought his XBOX with him and was happy that there was a TV in this room. The house also has WIFI - which made everyone happy. As soon as we were unpacked, we enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fireplace and listened to old vinyl records - there were many to chose from. The kitchen was well equiped with everything you would need, i.e. wine glasses, bottle openers, cheese graters, pots/pans, bowls, and even a lemon zester. All of our skis/snowboards were stored downstairs in the large basement. This is where the firewood is kept, as well as the washer/dryer. The owners also put together a giant pink binder with everything and anything you need to know about the house and local community - including restaurant recommendations. Mother nature was not cooperating the first couple of days of our stay, so we took a short drive to Waterbury and went to the Ben & Jerry's factory and visited the local shops. My family and I will definitely be staying at the Berghaus again. It was warm, cozy and 1.5 miles from the slopes! Can't beat the location. ~Jen & Brian~ New Jersey
